Russian Defense Ministry reports that 14 mercenaries from South Africa were killed in Ukraine

According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, the battle in Ukraine has claimed the lives of fourteen South African mercenaries.

Since the conflict began in 2022, at least 14 South African mercenaries have died in Ukraine, according to the Russian Defense Ministry.

Several African nations, including South Africa, are using mercenaries to fight with Ukraine.

According to the ministry of defense, out of the 35 mercenaries from South Africa, 14 of them died.

The other African nations with mercenaries in Ukraine are Algeria (60 and 28 murdered), Nigeria (97 and 47 killed), and other countries.

Next on the list is South Africa, which is followed by Senegal, which had 15 mercenaries slain, and Guinea, which had 10 mercenaries killed.

Since the start of the conflict two years ago, 13,387 mercenaries from across the world have been deployed, and 5,962 of them have died, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense.

According to the Russian Embassy in South Africa, Ukraine has turned into a mercenary cemetery.

The embassy stated, "Ukraine has turned into a mercenary graveyard: since the commencement of the special military operation in Ukraine, the Russian army has killed nearly 6,000 foreign mercenaries."

The other mercenaries were from Asia, Latin America, Australia, the United States, and Europe.
Last year, after Israel began attacking Palestinian territory, Khumbudzo Ntshavheni, the Minister in the Presidency responsible for State Security, issued a warning to South Africans fighting in the Gaza battle.

When Ntshavheni stated that South Africans who are engaged in overseas conflicts will face consequences from the law, she was responding to inquiries in Parliament.

Mercenary acts are prohibited for South Africans by the Foreign Military Assistance Act.

Ntshavheni stated at the time that the government will request that the National Prosecuting Authority bring charges against individuals involved in international wars.
